After driving 61 miles in 1000 days, Bluey is MOT'd.
Photos have been sent to the insurer for the guaranteed value to be confirmed, and then it will be taxed on 1st May, ready for it's next adventure.
I think they use a super-dooper version that tests the battery in a wide variety of conditions. You can tell a lot about a battery's condition if you have the right kit. They all work in the same way. Add a resistance then measure the voltage and the current. The clever bit is interpreting...
If you don't think short-circuiting a battery is scary then fair enough. I was less worried when I was cutting up bullets with a hacksaw than I was when I was whacking the probes onto a truck battery.
If the starter is not working, true, but the starter was working and was probably drawing 80%...
We had one in the REME workshop. It's a seriously scary thing to use 💥🔥 , and not much use without the charts to compare different CCAs.
To be honest, it won't tell you anything that a battery in the car can't tell you, unless you can get one that tells you the CCA, and I've never seen one...
I prefer this one. I like the red roof, and the dashboard is well designed around the original centre console.
Why don't they spend as much time tidying up the engine as they spend on the other bits? It really shows that they think the people who buy these are only interested in what it looks...
What's the location (county is good enough for most people)? I'm not interested in the steering wheels, but if I were, I'd probably collect if close enough.

It's always interesting to have a read of the MOT history.
I wonder how well the sills were repaired. Brake and fuel pipes should not need any work this close in time to a rebody, unless it is just a pretty...
Is the price based on a grand a photo?
For the sake of my inheritors, I hope there is a muppet prepared to part with that kind of money when I pop my clogs, although it will play havok with my inheritence planning :ymdevil: .
Something big and loud that is ULEZ exempt.
1970 Dodge Challenger, perhaps...

Depends what you are after. If you want more noise, then add resistance, and make the engine have to work more. If you want more performance, then you can attack the existing airbox with a Dremel and make the air flow more freely.
I just put it in a plastic bag with a window to read the odometer and the servicing module lights. It would be a good idea to chuck in some of those dampness-absorbing sachets 💡.
Soldering to the back of the bulb connectors should work. Just try to make sure that you use similar wattage...
