the actual op is really quick … about 11 minutes, it’s all the drops they do beforehand that takes the time 😂.
then it’s 4 weeks of 4 drops a day for the aftercare !!! 🤬
but nowhere as scary as I thought it would be…. considering they do it while you’re awake :eek:
Got on with the repair this morning having found some araldite rapid ….
Extended the wire. cut it as low as possible to give a bit more flexibility. Soldered and sleeved. Screwed the plastic piece on then twisted the wire so created a small coil inside the plastic. Pull it out to open the coils...
I washed the car this morning….. ( someone revive @andyglym =)) ). And I noticed the aerial was leaning back further than normal…..
So investigated……. The plastic dome has been snapped.:banghead::banghead::banghead: And the core wire has also been broken.
I have a feeling that this could...
Just thought I would add this….
27 years on, and the part has smaller
(neater) coils and the tabs are copper so they won’t rust !!!!
shame they didn’t think of that when It was designed originally :whistle:

The resistor sits on the passenger side of the heater matrix in the cabin. (RHD car)
Just remove the glove box and the lower trim piece….and you can see it ( although it took me a while to spot it :whistle:)
Its up where the yellow blue and green...
