Hello. I have a 1999 z3, it ran and now it doesn’t. It has the 2.5l engine I put a starter in and drove car. My wife drove car and popped the clutch and it stalled. It turns over but doesn’t run. No rpm’s on tach while turning over. It did fire up with either. I replace the crank sensor twice and cam sensors. I installed new fuel regulator and filter. I have 50psi at rail but it drops after two seconds. I removed the fuel relay and jumped 30-87 to cause fuel pump to run continuously, with fuel pump jumpered I have constant 50 psi at rail but still no run. No rpm movement on tach while turning over. Checked power to ecu it good. Next step to remove injectors. I don’t think that the problem but I want to see. What controls the injectors opening?

If it starts but doesn't run, disconnect the MAF sensor between the air filter and throttle body.
If that solves the problem, it is running on the standard map so probably won't pass the MOT emissions test. A new MAF will sort that.

Uhm start with basics, air fuel spark. Since you have fuel and probably air, is the coil working? Pull a plug and look for wetness (gas) on the electrodes. If that's there then probably spark. Coils aren't expensive. Check the big twist on connector on the coil. If loose or corroded, replace. Check for coil ground, did a bolt corroded or back out?.

I had a guy from Atlantic City BMW come with a suitcase sized Obd2 reader and sync the key. I fired a cannon load of parts and it was the ews.

Well, I was completely wrong as to cause....but it was No Spark! Is it patting yourself on the back or self flaggelation? Both feel pretty good......
Hey, I am grateful that you took time to give me a direction. I didn’t expect anyone to diagnose the problem over the internet, I was looking for ideas and thank you for your help. This car sits way too much, it’s got 46k on it, it sometimes sits for two or three years. My mother never drove it. It’s my problem now lol. Thanks again
