Looks nice
It's a Parker, so will be built well but is very expensive (dealer mark up and some). No mention of what mileage the car has done (it's a 2.8) other than the 6,000 since build.

In 2016 it had done 130K.

It's still in the MOT database as a Z3. Shouldn't that affect how it goes through MOT tests? I mean testing as a Z3 it should have air bags etc.

But, personally, I do like the colour.

So it has nearly 140k miles under its belt? That, and being registered as a Z3 still, makes it extremely expensive IMO.
I wonder what state the sills are in? ;)

The one that sold on C&C auction recently was this one's twin and only reached £40k ish. And that one had half the mileage.

Going by the asking price mine, with 54k miles, not a speck of rust and correctly registered, should be worth about a million quid then! Happy days. ;)

Is the price based on a grand a photo?

For the sake of my inheritors, I hope there is a muppet prepared to part with that kind of money when I pop my clogs, although it will play havok with my inheritence planning :ymdevil: .

It's always interesting to have a read of the MOT history.

I wonder how well the sills were repaired. Brake and fuel pipes should not need any work this close in time to a rebody, unless it is just a pretty dress, and no care was taken about what's underneath.

More photos here. The ones of the engine bay really scream £80k to me :banghead: .

The other cars on his website look fantastic cover shots, though.

I suppose if they've replaced all the wear-and-tear parts, bushes, bearings etc and stripped and rebuilt the engine and transmission etc etc then the milage doeasn't matter so much.

But if they picked up a thrashed basket case and put new clothes it then it's still a thrashed basket case.

Hopefully a buyer will have the ability to decide which it is.

I really don’t see the logic behind using a high mileage car for a replica that could be worth a lot if done well. It’s only a few grand between a really mint low mileage Z3 and a basket case.
I totally agree. For the sake of a few thousand (difference between a really good Z3 and a nail) I really don't see the logic.
I don't know about anyone else, but a few thousand has been a drop in the ocean when building one of these for me. They are NOT cheap to build.

I also don't understand why people zero their new odometer either. It is confusing and could be construed as trying to hide something. ETB (who make all these instruments) will program the odometer to whatever you want at no extra cost.

There is someone who builds these who finds insurance write-off Z3s (cos they are cheap) and re-bodies them. Now that is utter madness IMO. A sure-fire way to kill the value of the finished article.

But that costs nearly as much as just finding a better car to begin with.
I have a feeling many are only interested in the 'show' and not at all interested in the 'go'.
