It’s a hydraulic hand brake for getting the rear end out.

Didn’t speak to the owner but saw him leave. The car’s certainly lived a full life. 188k at it last MOT and seems to have been off the road for a few years recently. Interior looked a lot tidier than the exterior. Lots of character
