Greetings from Capetown South Africa.
I've got myself a 1997 Z3 project car and much to my horror its more a project than car. The idea was to have a on the road project car that I could tinker with on the odd day off.............thats certainly not happened. I recently had a clutch failure and after bleeding the clutch I decided to replace the slave cylinder on the gearbox. The shaft from the Slave Cylinder fell into the Bell housing and basically require the removal of the gear box to recover the wayward shaft (Push rod). Whilst gear box was out I thought I'd remove the oil pan and replace the gasket. As many members on this group will know this just became a nightmare. Having said all of this I'm enjoying the process and learning soooo much. I'm getting out of the idea of "a man with a spanner has an over whelming desire to take off any nut in sight that the spanner fits". Just as a info filler, South Africa is fairly isolated and getting spares and info for the "Project" is challenging. I'll be posting on hear my new disasters as they go for your amusement!!
