Last march we decided to know the less turistic Portugal crossing the country in six days roling by the N-2. An antiqued road that vertebrates Portugal from North to South along of 739 kilometers. A lovely trip that ride us to a succesion of landscapes, marvellow wineyards, pacefull lonely villages, santuaries, several viewpoints. Definetely an autentic roadster trip to enjoy with our Zeds. We started in Chaves (the north point), the 0 kilometer.
There is a N-2 passport that you can stamp in several check points to verify the hole trip. In Chaves, the best check point to stamp is The Pub Kilometrozero with a motorbike decoration where you can taste the autentic portuguese beer (by a ridicolous price)![Whistle  ](/assets/whistle.gif)
The second day destiny to Lamego, a beautifull road crossing wineyards where you can almost feel, smell, taste, the growing of the graves. Top down, of course.![Cool  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Lamego is a lovely village. You can visit their famous Sanctuary, an interesting cathedral and their castle.
The next day we detoured from N-2 to visit Coimbra, the former Portuguese capital.
The next step of our travel takes us to Abrantes. But first , we will visit the Aldeas do Sixto, it's worth it.
The journey continues and we move on to our next destination, Évora. The landscapes changes but not the beauty.
One of the many milestones on the route along the N-2
It is necessary to visit Évora, it is a city that has everything. but if I had to highlight something, besides their cakes, it would be the Capela Dos Ossos, a place to remember the brevity of life, where you can read:
Nós ossos que aqui estamos pelos vossos esperamos
We bones who are here for yours wait
The last step of our trip takes us to Faro in the Portuguese Algarve, where this wonderful route ends.
I hope that one day you too can enjoy it as much as we do.
