Hi I'm names james I'm new to the fourm I have a 98 z3 2.8. Wondering where the best place in UK is to find good (cheep) ideally new parts for the z3 I'm after 2 hood catches the center cable the bonnet release cable and also a throttle cable 142k on my 26yo car and the cables are shot

Look forward to the replys hope I haven't breeched fourm etiquette already

Hood catches I would try @spurs fan in a coupe he breaks Z3s.

For other smaller bits I use BMW Sytners Stevenage Online Parts They deliver, very handy, and they use the REAL OEM diagrams etc.

Hi and welcome from me in Scotland .

You will find a number of parts for z3 especially trim related stuff are no longer in production or available.
The forum can be invaluable sometimes for picking up good condition second hand parts that aren't available new any longer.

Welcome, you would never think of them, but www.rockauto.com in the States are good for lighter parts, hoses, clips, filters etc, even including carriage it's often incredibly cheap. Just have to be careful which location(s) you pick, you want all the parts from one location and the stock varies, so I put multiple items in the Cart, they come up Location A, B, C, D, delete the 'extra' parts to consolidate the location, get a carriage quote. Sorted. Takes 4-5 days, usually quicker then getting parts from Europe.

Thank you sorry for the late reply the bmw passed the mot today after the 5 years so went for a 70mile drive absolutely amazing

What's sytners deliver charges like. ie something tiny that just cost £5 I wouldn't want to spend £20 on postage
