Hi ladies and gentlemen, I just noticed your forum and thought it would be great to connect with other Z3 owners. I have had my 2000 Z3 for 1 year now and absolutely love the car. It only has 77,000 kilometers on it and will be in the shop for the first major servicing. The problem with stallI get that I was reading about has just happened to me. I suppose it could be one of the things mentioned in the thread, but is it better this time to just take the car in for the service and tell them to check for the stalling issue while there?

Hi and welcome from me in Oxfordshire. If you have a code reader do plug it in and let us know your findings. I would check all your vacuum hoses to see if you can visibly find any splits in the hoses and do a smoke test. You can find a diy thread on here if you search. Just a thought to rule out a potentially easy fix before throwing money at sensors.

What problems are you having
I have experienced stalling in the worst possible places...just died in the middle of the street in city center. Another three times as I was making my way home(4 kilometers). Have an appointment next week for 70,000 check, this problem forcing me to maybe take it in earlier. If I can fix this before, it would be nice.

Thanks everyone for the information. I decided to buy the code reader anyhow but the car was in the shop for the servicing. They stated the problem was the camshaft sensor and replaced it as well as checking everything else. I picked up the car yesterday and there is a distinct difference is the sound of the engine as well as the acceleration. I think the problem is fixed. It is great that I found this forum and I will be calling on you guys and ladies more. Thanks for everything!
