Stereo Upgrade Query

Hi folks, just after a bit of advice on Z3 potential stereo upgrade….

I’m thinking of fitting a single DIN flip screen Apple CarPlay type head unit. Just a little concerned the screen may foul the centre vents when deployed.

Has anyone successfully fitted one of these type of units on their Z3 and any recommendations please?

Like you said, a single din with a screen fouls up the vents.

I've had a few different ones, currently trying this 1 u android one. So far it's working out fine.

Also called an od9. Get the one with a volume knob.

Thanks for The heads up on that unit, decided to order one…..sorry to be a pain however what sort of wiring harness / adapter is required to plug from the factory harness to the new unit? My Z3 has the original business stereo and wiring. Also my front speaker amp is disconnected due to common failure. Do you find the sound from the OD9 is as good or better than the original units? Thinking about the lack of amp and whether speaker upgrades would be advisable….

Wiring . You will need an adapter it's a common fit. I think it's called a euro. But not sure.

Amp. It's sounds fine without one. I have upgraded all of the speakers though.

One tip. Pullout the vents when fitting, you can then plug the Ariel in easily. It's a faff otherwise

Thanks very much! I’ll update on the fitment etc once the unit lands. I’ve seen a BMW to ISO adapter on eBay which I’ll order.
