Hi, I’ve got a code for a faulty cam sensor. And have been having issues starting, random stalls etc.
what I wondered (things a little tight and I’ve spent a lot on the car) which copy brands are ok
Was looking at Meyle or Delphi or febi and probably getting the crank sensor too. Would change in the future to genuine but just want to use the car!

The above brands coming in for about £50 for both cam and crank, compared to £300 odd from BMW.
Thanks in advance

Delphi is an OE supplier..Meyle HD seems good..Meyle stock maybe OK..Febi very mixed bag ..some stuff seems to BMW OE other stuff very average

What fault codes are coming up? Crank sensor is a pig to change, at least it was on my 2.0 Z3 (right up behind the starter motor) so I would change it just for fun.
The symptoms sound like my Z3 inlet cam sensor failing. The one I fitted was a Bosch item ( it came from Andrew Page) with Trademark logo ground off, but original Bosch part number still on it. Cost was around £65 IIRC, was about 10-12 years ago. Andrew Page was bought out by Euro Car Parts.

Cheers Tony

fault codes attached, there maybe other issues - this car likes one step forward two back.

maybe I’ll leave the crank sensor for when I change the manifold over…

thanks again

Agree with what the others say regarding sensors, Bosch always good out of the box, have had success with Hass brand sensors myself. Like all sensors oem brands is the way to go, cheaper pattern parts either don't work or don't last long, you end up paying twice.

Replaced both inlet and exhaust sensors on mine to cure a misfire, both are Febi and been on for 10 years at least🤔
