So the plastic seal strip has started to detach from around my rear window. Looking around this forum it would seem it’s time for a new window as there’s not really any way of fixing this to any degree which will last or even look reasonable. Clicking on several different links(to no avail)and trying various Google searches the only replacements I can find are OEM ones which are super expensive or the cheaper option of the glue down fabric sealer strip. Whilst not being opposed to the cheaper option I’d much prefer the OEM type look with the rubber seal.
I’ve stumbled across a company in France that make OEM style replacements at a much more affordable price that I think look pretty good so I’ve ordered one to see what they’re like. Will post an update on quality etc when I receive it. Now just got to get the bottle to fit it 😃🤞🏻🤞🏻
Here’s the link if anyone is interested

Good find - what colour have you gone for ?
It’s says OEM one is green tint but mine doesn’t appear to be.

I’ve gone with green because the window that’s already in is a green one, so wanted to keep it as original as possible :)

Hope this works for you but I remember looking myself last year and like you say a genuine BMW one is big money. There was a place in Germany doing a pattern one but by the time postage, VAT and other stuff if I remember correctly was added it started looking sensible to go to Swansea and have a whole new hood complete with new rear stitched in rear window in despite my hood being in ok condition..Let us know how you get on.

I bought one from a german company around 10 years ago for around the same price. It zipped in really quick and lasted until last year when parts of the roof stitching started coming away. Basically my window was fine but my 25 year old roof was shot.

I think what I'm saying is that if your roof is 25 years old then zipping in a new window might just pop the old stitching.

Same happened to Lynne's zed before we bought it.
Someone had replaced to rear window and a few months later due to the tension of the new window ripped the stitching out from the roof side of the zip system managed to get it stitched back together but wasn't exactly an easy task to accomplish.

I’m away with work till middle of April but as soon as I get chance I’ll update and let everyone know how I get on. If the stitching does go on the hood I’ll just get a complete new one. It’s always a gamble but fingers crossed it goes ok 😊
