Yet another year of awful f1,the other teams other than mercedes should stay at home.I used to adore f1,now its a shadow of what it used to be.I thought also sport was a politics free arena, not acording to Hamilton he seems to dominate f1 in all sorts of ways.I wish the whole f1 organistaion would just go away, and disband as the bad joke it has become ps.Lewis all lives matter!!!!!! and so does tax dodging which your a world champion at. The poor lives matter when the rich dodge taxes.I dont normally write in this section, but to be lectured to by an insanely rich tax dodger is offensive.ps my future wife is Asian so no racism here ,just exspect fairness.

F1 is my favourite sport, still is today. Hamilton is a marmite charachter to be fair (he gets on my tits if I'm honest). That aside, Politics have been in F1 for decades, it's just more visible today. One team has almost always been dominant for an extended period of time, it's down to the rest to catch up.

Touring cars is great TBF, lots of action. Watched the Spa 24hrs over the weekend, epic finish between the 911 and R8 with the gearbox exploding on the 911 with minutes (2 laps to go), managed to drag it round to the flag.

Yes theres racing out there which is fair, and honest, even banger racing is more fun than clinical f1,which i repeat hope goes away ,and all the tax dodgers in it also.

I still watch F1 but usually wish I hadn't bothered however a weekend like the recent Goodwood event makes you realise that motor racing can still be fun. Good honest competition with no politics and the drivers all friendly.

I thought Sunday's F1 race in Portugal was quite interesting and one of the better ones. I generally agree that BTCC is much more exciting but oddly I thought this on Sunday was a little predictable, all cars really even which meant no overtaking unless you pushed someone off...

There has been some decent racing in F1 in the last couple of years compared to the processions of some years ago, particularly the midfield duels. As for tax dodging, how many rich people don't ? Hamilton gets a lot of bad press, why not the rest? Mansell, Coulthard etc , etc who live and pay low tax outside the UK. What kind of scrutiny were drivers of earlier eras subject to? Very little. I just appreciate Hamilton's ability, the best. And he didn't come from a priviledged background like most racing drivers.

I used to really love watching F1 having even travelled to watch races in Melbourne, Singapore, Monza, Silverstone, Donnington, Magny-Cours & Estoril but these days although I watch it on TV I don't have the same enthusiasm for it. If I miss a race on TV I'm not bothered, the only driver I like to see doing well is Max Verstappen.
Heard Jackie Stewart on Talksport this morning talking about Lewis Hamilton, Jim White (radio presenter) was willing Jackie to say that Lewis was the best driver ever. Jackie said that he you cannot compare drivers from the different eras. Present day F1 drivers only do 22 races a year, in comparison Jackie said one year (forget which year it was) he did hundreds of races in all sorts of classes of vehicles, crossing the Atlantic to race in USA 68 times (24 times in Concorde) driving all sorts of vehicles.
Just watched latest episode of Top Gear tonight which had a brilliant feature about Stirling Moss, what I driver and a gentleman to the end. He never was world champion, but he was along with the likes of Jim Clark what I would call a true racing driver.
Just my opinion. :racecar:

I personally think Jackie Stewart is a hypocrite. He says on one hand you cannot compare drivers from each era, but, then says he thinks Fangio is/was the best ever. you cannot have it both ways Jackie. Stirling Moss was a Gentleman no doubt, as was I think, Graham Hill. Michael Schumacher won many races and accumulated many records on the way and even though I am not a Lewis Hamilton fan, I am glad he has raised those records because Schumacher was a dirty cheat who won at all costs.

Of course to all who tax dodge shame on them, but Hamiliton has the audacity to wave the union jack the very country he has tax dodged against,if he love s the uk why not live there? ,answer greed!Iv been in Stevenage where he grew up,the town centre is old an d decrepid, and you can sense the poverty there, who cares Lewis buy another million pound road car to add to your collection!at least theres some from a privilaged background live a humble life, and become doctors ,scientists ,phillanthropists, people of quality!ps i will go back to talking about my z only,as my views are maybe for another forum on another site, but i appreciate exspressing them freely on zr.

Must agree though, that you can't really compare drivers from different eras. Top drivers are all very good and you can only beat who you are up against. I feel priviledged to be old enough to have watched F1 from the start in its present form. The 50 s, 60 s and 70 s were the best eras for me and we have certainly seen some boring periods since. Sadly, for me at least, I can see that it will soon go down the electric route if it survives at all.

You seem to have an intense dislike for Hamilton @california123 when everything you criticize him for can be said about Button, Coulthard, Mansell etc, etc. They all waved the flag, but live outside normal UK tax regulations. I'm really only interested in racing drivers in regard to their race driving . Their private lives, politics etc is of no interest to me and this forum is supposed to be about cars and motoring.
