Don't go along the old 'heads of the valleys' road, ebbw vale, abergavenney. It's not nice nowadays.

Maybe head for neath, llandridnod wells to shrewsbury then from there you can pick your way across to sheffield.

I say that not because I know those roads. I don't. But that's why I'd go that way.

If you have time:
Black mountain pass A4069, then A483 as far north as you can take it

Enjoy the cramped and hot train journey, well thats what mine was like on the way to you! Maybe better the other way and on weekends.

My train from Derby to Cardiff was cancelled so had to go via Bristol and the Cross Country service was rammed until Birmingham New Street so I ended up sat on the floor in First class. The GWR service from Bristol Parkway to Swansea was virtually empty once we passed Cardiff

Long day but great top down drive back through Wales until I hit the M5.

Picked the car up near Swansea Marina.

Followed the route that @Jam03 suggested to Builth Wells - these were on the A4069 at Llangadog.

I’ve stopped at that layby on the Black Mountain pass every time I’ve been to Wales.

I walked around that marina while I was getting a new roof fitted to the Z3 last year 👍

Somehow you had better weather in early April than I did in August! 😅

Looks ok Garrie, but I'm not keen on the colour combination.;)
Any recommendations for cleaning the leather - I'm used to black not beige and although the Tesla has white seats they aren't leather (think Tesla call them vegan leather =))) so just use baby wipes on them?

After sorting out the MOT on the E86 yesterday the plan was to celebrate with a drive out in the Peaks but school is out for the kids and my daughter asked if she could tag along - she much prefers the E89 so off we went.

Obviously with the sun putting on a full display and driving a Zed that had never seen the back side of Mam Tor there was only one location to head for but first we stopped at the Barrel Inn to enjoy one of the best view in the Peak District.

Then on to the lay-by before heading back down Winnats Pass and through Castleton and Hope where we stopped off for a comgort break and sandwich:thumbsup:
