Why are the prices so different between the US and UK?

RHD is posh; a bit like the English accents they use to sell quality goods. We know better of course! :)

And the Z4 is manufactured in :-

"The Toyota GR Supra and the BMW Z4 not only share the same platform, but were co-developed by the two automakers as a cost-saving option (and are even built by Magna Steyr on the same assembly line in Graz, Austria)"

It’s worth considering weather as to why they are cheaper.

Convertibles are very popular in the UK despite the weather but they become a bit of a summer fling for a lot of owners. When winter hits, they get sold and naturally the market dips quite heavily until the sun pops back out and suddenly a classic convertible seems like an inspired idea.

Prolonged sunshine is such a novelty in the UK, especially up here in the West Coast of Scotland. What better way to soak up than with a drop top Z3.

I would suggest the US and Europe cost more because the cars will be generally in better condition. Not a fool proof theory but I’d chuck that in mix as a contributing factor to why you can pick up a basement level Z3 for £500 or $1000 USD in the UK.

Even in Americas colder areas, there’s enough land with big houses and large garages to tuck them away for the wet and wild seasons.

I agree with all of it, both sides...to me the z3 is (id say pre2002 but I just love the 90's, 97, 98. Personal preference) just the best looking thing around. It's like the e type jag, a look like nothing else. I'm not a fan of the z4, I don't need it to be a race car, it's not particularly comfortable, it doesn't handle like the Italians but it is rock solid, dependable transportation that gets you and one friend only to where you want to go in a style that's beyond classic. It's Z.

Ps, you cannot get out of one without a smile on your face.

Is the Z German? Where is it manufactured?
Ok SA. we know it was made in the USA. But that would still be LHD.

But by your rational an Opel that came out of elsemere port is a british car - A ford completed in Genk is belgian.

But you know what I meant.

Why would an RHD zed be a novelty in the USA? I can understand a british car, say a triumph TR or a Morgan.

But a german car? In Germany they drive on the same side as the USA - well, they're supposed to. I remember very often over the radio they'd interrupt the music to issue a warning of a "Geisterfahrer" coming the wrong way up the Autobahn - either drunk or old and got confused by the off/on ramps and ended up going the wrong way - happened very often for some reason.
I had a tr4 in high-school. I've always liked the slightly different. Had a Norton 850 commander, a 3cyl kawasaki 650, a couple of old jeeps and a few boats. Love the Morgan's but never in my price range. I don't put countries on most manufacturers as most labels have been based in many places. Jag is India now? Tata? Was Ford was many things. But still Jaaaaag. I had a Honda del sol I absolutely loved. A subaru baja that didn't last long but was awesome. A rhd car is a head turner. Not that I'm vain....

Also I'm fat and can drop the top, hug the wheel and yell "HELP! The driver fell out!" And nobody would know... or, even better, my dog would be driving...and hes stuffed.
