Please can I have some help

I’ve got a problem with my poor Z 🥲
I was driving home from work ( 2 miles )
Engine started running rough , as I pulled into the drive the engine cut out , engine management light came on ( yellow ) , after that the car would start, but still rough , the following morning, the car would turn over but will not start at all , up until Friday the car ran like a dream with no problems.
Anyone got any ideas what is wrong with my Z .

We’re got a code reader , but it won’t work because the car is completely dead 🥲

If the ignition, dashboard lights come on Shelly the code reader will work. The engine does not have to be running.

Won’t it read codes with the engine off?
Crank or cam position sensor(s) gave up maybe?

You said Completely dead? As in battery totally flat? As others have said. Code reader.

Chain slippage maybe. But not breakage as that is catastrophic and complete, not causing rough running. A slack chain might jump a tooth or two though. But why would that leave the engine apparently 'dead' electrically? We need Shelley to elaborate on 'dead'. Re-reading her initial post suggests electrical systems are still on but there's no firing so the code reader should work.

Another thought. My son's Z4M had a habit of running rough from time to time and it was found to be coil pack failure. Quite what effect a non-igniting cylinder would have in the engine management system I don't know. Maybe it would cause a shut-down to protect the engine?

Chain slipping is still “failure” is it not. That early 4 cylinder engine was known for chain guides breaking, allowing chain misalignment where the engine still ran, all be it very poorly. We obviously need more info before we get to the bottom of it.

The engine is trying to turn on very slightly, but nothing there , were going to get someone to come and have a look at it , a mobile mechanic when he can fit us in , Allan has charged the battery, and
googled maybe what can be wrong with it , Allan has cleared the faults with the code reader as we have electrics working in the car . Hopefully the mechanic can come round soon , thank you all for your help

All those codes point to low voltages. So either your alternator is not charging properly, or the battery has died.
Obviously a new battery (needs coding to the car) is the first step.

E89s really do not like low voltages. It can cause all sorts of random faults to appear. The electric handbrake is a famous one.
