Write off....no way !!!

Thanks to @Alan Slade and Maxine for coming round this morning, plus my neighbour, and the bonnet was bolted back on.
With one minor adjustment to one side, we got it positioned. :)

Had to adjust the bonnet locks and bump stops and got the shut lines fairly close but a bit high on drivers side.

But that was now down to me to play around with it , so went indoors for tea before Alan and Maxine had to go as Bertie was probably sitting cross legged at home wanting a wee!!!!!

As it was sunny thought I would have a go at trying to improve the shut lines, so after playing about at the front realised there were side buffers as well, so adjusted them and it made an improvement.

This is for Alan’s benefit.....as he pointed out that the badge was crap , so with my new set of trim tools that arrived this morning I swapped it for another one that I had.

And thats it , nothing left to fit
A Huge THANK YOU to Alan and Maxine , @Jjim , @Ryan atkins , @spurs fan in a coupe , plus everyone else who has helped me with advice and encouragement.

If nothing else, the Z3 learning curve is not as steep as it was a year ago when I bought the car and joined the forum.

Just to prove that I am a complete tw@, I will share this with you.....
Boot light all checked out and all refitted, so decided, as suggested to use my mobile on video ( instead of grandchild) to check it goes off when boot is shut.
three times I filmed it and the screen was just black every time.....then realised the camera lens was on the other side of phone and I had been filming the carpet........What a plonker!!!!!!

Boot light aside, an outstanding save and turn round! Superb thread.

Superb thread and excellent job very well done , not quite finished no gills on side of bonnet so it's a 9.9 from me

Now having seen the car 'in the flesh' I must congratulate you @Mazza for a job really well done. The car looks better now than before the accident.
I didn't really use the term crap about the badge just the paint was faded but now you mention it, crap suits.
Also I didn't expect you to own up about the phone on the forum.

Fantastic job. Is it just me, or the light, but seems the lower panel in last photo is not quite aligned with the sill? Real picky, sorry!

Thanks Ian.....been out to have a look. It is right at the bottom but the panel seems to have more of a curve in it.
Dont think I will play around with it, but if I do any meetings, I will remember to stand in front of it =))

I wager that you will adjust it, you are too much of a perfectionist to let it go!!!!!

Brilliant Malc, it's been a great read following your progress. Job well done and just in time for Christmas:thumbsup:

Great news that it is all back together and you've learnt a lot along the way.

Malc - why didn’t you just scrap it and buy a new car - by the way back off to Mansfield on the 15th January ⚽

Excellent job Mate...... an absolutely beautiful job as has been said before, better than before the accident. Not that you wanted to damage it but to have it turn out turn this is a credit to you.:thumbsup:
